Maria Hassabi (born in Cyprus) is a New York-based director, choreographer and artist. Over the years she has developed a practice involved with the relation of the body to the image, defined by sculptural physicality and extended duration. Her works draw their strength from the tension between the human subject and the artistic object, the dancer as a performer and as a physical entity. Maria Hassabi will present her latest work “Wall” at DESTE Foundation for Contemporary Art, shortlisted for the DESTE 2015 prize.

Creative Lighting was hired to offer its lighting expertise and consult the artist on how to technically execute the given concept.
